I&#8217;m so stoked!!! I have to wait around three months for the tartan to be woven and the kilt to be made, it&#8217;s going to be a very long wait!!! :o)<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the tartan I am getting:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.andy-thomson.co.uk\/gallery\/d\/1374-2\/thomson+1349.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a MacTavish tartan. MacTavish (1439) to be exact!<\/p>\n<p><big><big>MacTavish?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!<small><small><\/p>\n<p>When researching the available tartans I discovered that the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Scottish_Gaelic_language\">gaelic<\/a> for Son of Thom(as) is <a href=\"http:\/\/freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com\/%7Ehaslam\/surnames\/m.html#mact\">MacTavish<\/a> and that suits me just fine! It&#8217;s also a nice tartan that incorporates many colours that having meaning to me:<\/p>\n<p><\/small><\/small><\/big><\/big><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><big><big><small><small>Red &#8211; the main colour of the tartan is red. My Grandad and I have a running joke about red as it&#8217;s the colour his favourite football team wears.<\/small><\/small><\/big><\/big><\/li>\n<li><big><big><small><small>Green &#8211; the colour of the mighty Hibees!!!!<\/small><\/small><\/big><\/big><\/li>\n<li><big><big><small><small>Blue &#8211; for Scotland<\/small><\/small><\/big><\/big><\/li>\n<li><big><big><small><small>White &#8211; for Scotland<\/small><\/small><\/big><\/big><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><big><big><small><small><br \/>I finally decided I liked the look of it the most. There were a LOT of options. When I finally got through all the tartans I then had to decide which version of the tartan I wanted traditional, modern, ancient, antique, muted or reproduction&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; holy crap. I finally went for modern as the green was darker and more &#8216;hibby&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>So there you go, I ordered a full weight (16 oz) traditional (read worsted wool) kilt a week past Friday. Should be here around the beginning of December. It&#8217;ll be a long wait.<\/p>\n<p>To ease the pain of waiting, I began ordering my accessories last week, they began arriving today. I ordered a sporran from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freelandersporrans.com\/\">Freelander Sporrans<\/a>, it&#8217;s awesome!!!! <\/p>\n<p><\/small><\/small><\/big><\/big><\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><big><big><small><small><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/andy-thomson.co.uk\/gallery\/d\/1376-2\/Shoddy8.gif\" \/><\/small><\/small><\/big><\/big><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><big><big><small><small>I&#8217;ve also ordered a fair amount of stuff from ebay that will start arriving soon!
